Bricks and mortar: OCC allows JRMB II unit to open 4 branches in Oklahoma

S&P Global Market Intelligence rounds up notable branch openings and closings over the past week. This wrap excludes certain moves by banks with more than $5 billion in assets and certain credit unions.

Mid-Atlantic

The New York State Department of Financial Services authorized Garden City Park, N.Y.-based Hanover Community Bank to open a branch at 138-35 39th Ave. in Flushing, Queens borough, New York City, according to the state banking regulator's weekly banking bulletin.

The bank is a unit of Hanover Bancorp Inc.

Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Dime Community Bank, a unit of Dime Community Bancshares Inc., opened a branch at 1 Huntington Quadrangle in Melville, N.Y.

The bank is also set to open an office in midtown Manhattan soon, according to a press release.

Midwest

Bank of Oakfield in Wisconsin, a unit of Oakfield Bancorp Inc., secured the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's approval to open a branch at 171 S. Pioneer Road in Fond du Lac, Wis., according to a Federal Reserve release.

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Financial Institutions approved Archbold, Ohio-based Farmers & Merchants State Bank's application to open a banking office at 1660 Tiffin Ave. in Findlay, Ohio, according to the state regulator's October report.

Farmers & Merchants Bancorp Inc. is the bank's parent company.

The Ohio banking regulator approved Youngstown, Ohio-based Home Savings Bank's application to open a banking office at 4137 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 101 in Canfield, Ohio, according to the regulator's August report.

United Community Financial Corp. is the bank's parent company.

Bainbridge, Ohio-based Rockhold Bank in August obtained the Ohio banking regulator's approval to open a banking office at the corner of U.S. Route 23 and Delano Road in Chillicothe, Ohio.

The bank is a subsidiary of Rockhold Bancshares Inc.

The Ohio banking regulator in August approved Antwerp Exchange Bank Co.'s application to open a banking office at 10726 Thimlar Road, Village of Harlan, Ind.

Antwerp, Ohio-based Diamond Bancshares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

Saginaw, Mich.-based 1st State Bank, a unit of 1st State Financial Ltd., is building a branch at 400 Ashman St. in Midland, Mich., MLive reported. Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2018.

Ohio-based Farmers National Bank of Canfield, a unit of Farmers National Banc Corp., closed its branch at 3826 S. Main St. in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, according to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's website.

Minerva, Ohio-based Consumers National Bank, a subsidiary of Consumers Bancorp Inc., secured the OCC's approval to open a branch at 3680 Embassy Parkway in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Northeast

Massachusetts-based Brookline Bank, a unit of Brookline Bancorp Inc., will open a lending office in Wakefield, Mass., according to a press release.

Southeast

The Federal Bank of St. Louis approved Springfield, Mo.-based Old Missouri Bank's application to open a branch at 318 W. Mt. Vernon Blvd. in Mt. Vernon, Mo.

The bank is a subsidiary of JamesMark Bancshares Inc.

Honaker, Va.-based New Peoples Bank Inc., a unit of New Peoples Bankshares Inc., applied with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond for a branch at 207 Oakville Road in Princeton, W. Va.

Lynchburg, Va.-based Bank of the James Financial Group Inc., the parent company of Bank of the James, opened a full-service banking facility at 1745 Confederate Blvd. in Appomattox, Va., according to a press release.

Independence, Va.-based Skyline National Bank obtained the OCC's approval to open a branch at 1055 Mt. Jefferson Rd. in West Jefferson, N.C.

Floyd, Va.-based Parkway Acquisition Corp is the bank's parent company.

Southwest

Chelsea, Okla.-based Bank of Commerce, a unit of Commerce Bancshares Inc., applied with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City for a branch at 8272 S. Lewis Ave. in Tulsa, Okla.

Mount Pleasant, Texas-based Guaranty Bank & Trust NA, a subsidiary of Guaranty Bancshares Inc., opened a full-service branch at 7004 Bee Caves Road, Suite 315, in Austin, Texas, according to a press release.

City National Bank and Trust Co. of Lawton Oklahoma, a unit of JRMB II Inc., obtained the OCC's approval to open four branches in Oklahoma — at 13801 N. May Ave. in Oklahoma City; at 2301 W. Kenosha St. in Broken Arrow; at 207 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa; and at 333 N. Interstate Drive in Norman.

The bank also seeks to close its branch at 3900 Hillside Drive in Broken Arrow, Okla.
