BICE board member quits following government crackdown on nepotism

Ernesto Martí Reta resigned as a board member of state-run Banco de Inversión y Comercio Exterior SA, according to a regulatory filing.

The resignation of Reta, who is in a relationship with Mariana Triaca, the sister of Labor Minister Jorge Triaca and a director at state-run Banco de la Nación Argentina, follows a government crackdown on nepotism, La Nación reported.

Reta joined the bank in 2015 as a legal advisor to the board, before starting a relationship with the labor minister's sister. He was appointed a director in August 2017.

Reta's position will be left vacant until the bank closes its internal reorganization due to the transfer of related companies, the publication reported.
