Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has acquired South Korean artificial intelligence startup Fluenty, The Korea Herald reported.
Fluenty launched a smartphone app in 2015, which provides recommended responses to chat messages using machine learning. The app supports messaging platforms such as Kakao Corp.'s Kakao Talk, Telegram, Line Corp.'s Line, Facebook Inc.'s Messenger and WhatsApp.
The Samsung Group is anticipated to use Fluenty's technologies in Bixby, its AI-powered virtual assistant that it unveiled in March.
Fluenty currently has about 10 employees, the report said.
