Hunter & Co. PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 4.79 Sri Lankan rupees per share, an increase from 1.16 rupees per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 24.6 million rupees, a gain from 6.0 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 6.1% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 14.5% year over year to 684.1 million rupees from 597.5 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 9.2% from the prior-year period to 629.3 million rupees from 576.0 million rupees.
Reported net income grew on an annual basis to 66.7 million rupees, or 12.96 rupees per share, from 9.6 million rupees, or 1.87 rupees per share.
As of Feb. 20, US$1 was equivalent to 132.87 Sri Lankan rupees.
