Leaders Cosmetics Q2 profit climbs 93.5% YOY

Leaders Cosmetics Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to 410.79 South Korean won per share, a gain of 93.7% from 212.12 won per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 7.06 billion won, a gain of 93.5% from 3.65 billion won in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 13.5% from 12.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 79.4% on an annual basis to 52.75 billion won from 29.40 billion won, and total operating expenses climbed 78.9% from the prior-year period to 40.62 billion won from 22.71 billion won.

Reported net income rose 74.5% year over year to 8.31 billion won, or 483.85 won per share, from 4.76 billion won, or 277.02 won per share.

As of Aug. 17, US$1 was equivalent to 1,183.06 South Korean won.
