South Korean regulator, Vietnamese central bank sign fintech partnership

South Korea's Financial Services Commission said that it signed a memorandum of understanding March 22 with the State Bank of Vietnam to promote fintech development between the two countries.

The pact will include a training program for Vietnamese officials on the East Asian state's fintech policies, among other things.

The move comes as South Korea seeks further economic outreach with Southeast Asia, under President Moon Jae-in's New Southern Policy introduced in November 2017.
