Peru's GDP advances 2.50% in 2017

Peru's GDP grew 2.50% in 2017, marking 19 consecutive years of growth, acccording to data from national statistics agency INEI.

Last year's growth was driven mainly by a 3.06% advancement in the primary sector and a 2.74% acceleration in services. In addition, the secondary sector increased by 0.53%.

In December 2017 alone, the country's GDP increased by 1.32%, due to the positive evolution of external demand as well as the recovery of the domestic demand. The month's productive growth was based on the favorable result for the majority of the sectors of the economy, including mining and hydrocarbons, construction, agriculture, telecommunications, trade and transportation.
