Financial technology startup Better.com raised $160 million in a series C funding round.
The company said it has raised $254 million to date. Companies that joined the funding round included Activant Capital Group LLC, Ping An Global Voyager Fund, Ally Financial Inc., Citigroup Inc., AGNC Investment Corp., Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan and American Express Ventures. They joined current shareholders Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Pine Brook Partners LLC and Kleiner Perkins.
Better.com says it digitizes the mortgage process, eliminating commissions, fees and "time-wasting" branch appointments, and allows customers to upload documents and get loan preapprovals within minutes.
