AT&T Inc. on March 27 announced the launch of FirstNet Dedicated Network Core, a communications platform dedicated to first responders.
Built with AT&T, in public-private partnership with the First Responder Network Authority, the platform will provide the responders with a separate, nationwide broadband network.
The new platform can be used to create and control the FirstNet experience, carry out public safety information, and create a unified, interoperable and nationwide communications system.
In 2017, all 50 states, two territories and the District of Columbia opted into FirstNet. Earlier this year, American Samoa also accepted the First Responder Network Authority and AT&T's plan to deliver a wireless broadband network to the territory's public safety community.
