New Look Vision profit misses consensus by 20.5% in fiscal Q2

New Look Vision Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended June 25 amounted to 29 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 36 cents per share.

EPS rose year over year from 28 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was C$4.0 million, an increase from C$3.9 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 7.9% from 8.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 8.0% year over year to C$50.5 million from C$46.8 million, and total operating expenses increased 9.1% from the prior-year period to C$43.1 million from C$39.6 million.

Reported net income declined 5.7% from the prior-year period to C$4.2 million, or 30 cents per share, from C$4.4 million, or 32 cents per share.
