Rank Group profit misses consensus by 20.5% in fiscal H1

Rank Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 6 Great British pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 7 pence per share.

EPS climbed 91.9% year over year from 3 pence.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £21.8 million, an increase of 73.6% from £12.6 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to £343.3 million from £337.0 million, and total operating expenses came to £302.5 million, compared with £304.3 million in the prior-year period.

Reported net income totaled £28.3 million, or 7 pence per share, compared to a loss of £1.5 million, or a loss of 0 pence per share, in the year-earlier period.
