Bombay Cycle & Motor fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

4914544 said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was 15.53 Indian rupees per share, a decline of 11.6% from 17.57 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.1 million rupees, a decline of 9.1% from 3.4 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 17.9% from 21.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 7.4% year over year to 17.5 million rupees from 16.3 million rupees, and total operating expenses grew 13.4% year over year to 15.2 million rupees from 13.4 million rupees.

Reported net income came to 3.7 million rupees, or 18.39 rupees per share, compared to 3.7 million rupees, or 18.91 rupees per share, in the prior-year period.
