S&P Global Market Intelligence rounds up notable branch openings and closings over the past week. This wrap excludes certain moves by banks with more than $5 billion in assets and certain credit unions.

Mid-Atlantic

Luzerne, Pa.-based Luzerne Bank received the approval of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities to open a branch at 669 State Rt. 93 Highway, in Sugarloaf Township, Pa., according to the state regulator's summary of activities.

The bank is a subsidiary of Penns Woods Bancorp Inc.

Perkasie, Pa.-based Penn Community Bank received state regulatory approval to open a branch at 601 Louis Drive in Warminster, Pa.

The bank is a subsidiary of Penn Community Financial Corp. Penn Community Mutual Holdings Inc. is the bank's ultimate parent.

Philadelphia-based Republic First Bank, a unit of Republic First Bancorp Inc., withdrew its application with the state regulator for a branch at Central Ave & East Street Road, in Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.

Marysville, Pa.-based Riverview Bank, a unit of Riverview Financial Corp., received the state regulator's approval to open a branch at 509 North Center Avenue, in Somerset, Pa.

York, Pa.-based PeoplesBank A Codorus Valley Co., a unit of Codorus Valley Bancorp Inc., filed an application with the state regulator for a branch at 1800 Village Circle, in Lancaster, Pa.

Midwest

Effingham, Ill.-based Midland States Bank, a unit of Midland States Bancorp Inc., filed an application with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to establish a branch at 4321 Manchester Avenue, Unit A, in St. Louis, according to a Federal Reserve release.

Springfield, Mo.-based Great Southern Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Great Southern Bank, expects to open a commercial loan production office in downtown Chicago in the first quarter of 2017, according to the company's earnings release.

Bellevue, Ohio-based First National Bank of Bellevue, a unit of First Bancshares Inc., received the OCC's approval to open a branch at 1300 Oak Harbor Road, in Fremont, Ohio, according to the regulator's website.

Southeast

The St. Louis Fed approved Piggott, Ark.-based Piggott State Bank's application to open a branch at 400 North Main Street, in Rector, Ark.

The bank is a unit of Piggott Bankstock Inc.

Charleston, S.C.-based Carolina Financial Corp., the parent company of CresCom Bank, opened its second branch in Wilmington, N.C., in December 2016, according to the company's earnings release.

In Arkansas, Pine Bluff-based Relyance Bank NA and Batesville-based Citizens Bank purchased lots in the upcoming East Ridge subdivision, a new commercial development on the southeast side of Hot Springs, Arkansas Business reported.

Relyance Bank is a unit of Jefferson Bancshares Inc., and Citizens Bank is a subsidiary of Citizens Bancshares of Batesville Inc.

Searcy, Ark.-based First Security Bank, a unit of First Security Bancorp, is also planning to open a branch on Malvern Avenue, in Hot Springs, Ark., according to the report.

Moultrie, Ga.-based Southwest Georgia Financial Corp., the parent company of Southwest Georgia Bank, is applying for a branch in Tifton, Ga., where it operates a loan production office, according to the company's earnings release.

Vienna, Va.-based Navy Federal Credit Union began construction of a facility in Winchester, Va. The building is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2018, according to a press release.

Greenville, S.C.-based Southern First Bancshares Inc., the parent company of Southern First Bank, received regulatory approval to open an office in the Triangle region of North Carolina, according to the company's earnings release.

Danville, Va.-based American National Bank and Trust Co., a unit of American National Bankshares Inc., opened a branch at 3000 Ogden Road, in Roanoke, Va.

North Garden, Va.-based Old Dominion National Bank received the OCC's approval to open two branches in Virginia — at 1100 E High Street in Charlottesville, and at 8601 Westwood Center Drive in Vienna.

The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance approved Sandersville, Ga.-based Citizens Bank of The South's application to open a branch at 121 Executive Parkway, in Milledgeville, Ga., according to the state regulator's December 2016 bulletin.

Searcy, Ark.-based First Security Bank, a unit of First Security Bancorp, filed an application with the Arkansas State Bank Department for a branch at 2504 W. Main St., Suites G&L, in Russellville, Ark., according to the regulator's website.

Southwest

Houston-based Allegiance Bank, a subsidiary of Allegiance Bancshares Inc., opened of a loan production office at 5330 Griggs Road, in Houston's Palm Center, according to a press release.

Oklahoma City-based MidFirst Bank, a unit of Midland Financial Co., entered the Dallas market with the opening of a commercial banking office, according to a press release.

The OCC approved Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Academy Bank NA's application to open a branch at 7150 East Camelback Road, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The bank is a subsidiary of Dickinson Financial Corp. Dickinson Financial Corp. II is the bank's ultimate parent.

The OCC approved McGregor, Texas-based First National Bank of McGregor's application for a branch at 510 N. Valley Mills Drive in Waco, Texas.

The bank is a unit of McGregor Bancshares Inc.

Hollis, Okla.-based Great Plains National Bank, a subsidiary of Great Plains Bancshares Inc., received the OCC's approval to open a branch at 601 NW 13th St. in Oklahoma City.

West

Last spring, Quincy, Calif.-based Plumas Bancorp, the parent of Plumas Bank, expanded into Oregon by opening a commercial/agriculture loan production office in Klamath Falls, according to the company's earnings release.

Santa Cruz, Calif.-based Lighthouse Bank opened a loan production office at 19240 Stevens Creek Boulevard in Cupertino, Calif., in December 2016, according to a press release.

* * *

Burbank, Calif.-based Partners Federal Credit Union launched a mobile branch in September 2016, at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, CUInsight.com reported.
