Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies AG has agreed to acquire Merus Audio ApS, a company that specializes in energy-efficient integrated audio amplifier solutions.

The Copenhagen-based startup will be fully integrated into Infineon's existing audio business portfolio, ultimately becoming part of its Power Management & Multimarket Division. The acquisition will enable Infineon to offer fully integrated system solutions for smart speakers, said Andreas Urschitz, division president of Power Management & Multimarket at Infineon.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
