Malaysia's Cagamas, Indonesia's Sarana Multigriya Finansial sign cooperation MOU

Malaysia's Cagamas Bhd. and Indonesia's PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the secondary mortgage finance markets in Malaysia and Indonesia.

The pact will cover arrangements linked to financial instruments that can increase the stability of the housing finance market, as well as mortgage-backed securities and other funding instruments, according to a March 19 release.

It will also look at, among other things, the monitoring of house prices and its implication towards housing finance, as well as Islamic finance and its regulatory and supervisory framework that facilitates cross-border cooperation.
