Ford recalls over 44,000 Explorer units in China

Ford Motor Co.'s Chinese arm is recalling 44,333 Explorer vehicles after the imported cars have been found with defects that could reduce steering control, Xinhua News reported Aug. 3, citing the State Administration for Market Regulation.

The affected Explorer vehicles were built between Nov. 22, 2012, and Jan. 24, 2017, according to the report.

Ford Motor (China) Ltd. began the recall Aug. 1, the news outlet said, adding that the company plans to replace defective parts free of charge.

On July 12, Ford began recalling nearly 8,000 of its 2019 Ranger SuperCab pickup trucks in the U.S. and Canada for a seat belt assembly issue.
