Report: MUFG to promote deputy president Kamezawa to president/CEO

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. will name Deputy President Hironori Kamezawa president and CEO, Nikkei reported Jan. 15, citing unnamed sources.

Kamezawa, 58, expected to start his new positions in April, replacing President Kanetsugu Mike who will become the group's deputy chairman with the right of representation, according to the report.

Kamezawa joined the group in 1986 and has been in the market department for bonds and currencies as well as led the group's digital strategy.
