Invenergy completes battery storage system for MidAmerican Energy

Invenergy LLC has completed a 4-MWh battery storage system in Knoxville, Iowa, for MidAmerican Energy Co.

The facility went online in December 2018, after a four-month construction process, according to a Jan. 14 news release. The lithium iron phosphate system can supply 1 MW of electricity for four hours, enough to power about 900 average residential homes in Iowa.

Invenergy acted as the engineering, procurement and construction provider for the project.

MidAmerican Energy is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
