RBS returns to profit in FY'17 despite Q4 loss

Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc reported full-year 2017 profit attributable to ordinary shareholders of £752 million, compared to a year-ago loss of £6.96 billion.

The group's statutory total income rose year over year to £13.13 billion from £12.59 billion.

For the fourth quarter of 2017, the British lender reported an attributable loss of £579 million, narrowing from a loss of £4.44 billion in the year-ago period.
