SunEnergy1 completes 80-MW solar facility in North Carolina

Developer SunEnergy1 has achieved operation at the 80-MWac Aulander Holloman solar facility in Hertford County, N.C.

The solar facility has a power purchase agreement with Fifth Third Bancorp, which aims to achieve 100% renewable power, according to an Aug. 29 news release.

The electricity generated by the facility is expected to be an amount equal to or more than the amount Fifth Third uses in one year and will be resold at market rates into the local electricity grid. The associated renewable energy credits will be retired by Fifth Third.
