Hunter & Co. fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

4914192 said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to 1.61 Sri Lankan rupees per share, a decline of 32.5% from 2.39 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 8.3 million rupees, a decrease of 32.5% from 12.3 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 1.3% from 2.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 15.4% on an annual basis to 635.5 million rupees from 550.8 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 19.2% from the prior-year period to 617.2 million rupees from 517.7 million rupees.

Reported net income decreased 42.0% from the prior-year period to 9.9 million rupees, or 1.92 rupees per share, from 17.0 million rupees, or 3.31 rupees per share.
