Kyocera Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥60.40 per share, an increase of 61.3% from ¥37.45 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥22.21 billion, an increase of 61.4% from ¥13.76 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 5.6% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 18.0% on an annual basis to ¥393.18 billion from ¥333.26 billion, and total operating expenses rose 13.8% from the prior-year period to ¥354.85 billion from ¥311.74 billion.
Reported net income increased 41.2% on an annual basis to ¥26.41 billion, or ¥71.81 per share, from ¥18.70 billion, or ¥50.89 per share.
