MS Amlin to stop writing certain domestic UK P&C business

MS Amlin Ltd. will stop underwriting corporate property, casualty and package binders via its U.K. property and casualty business, effective Jan. 31, 2020.

The company said its decision follows a review that identified product lines and operations that are no longer aligned with its strategy. MS Amlin plans to redeploy capital and shift the focus of its management to global reinsurance, global specialty and domestic specialty markets in continental Europe.

MS Amlin's decision to exit these U.K. classes of business will not impact its remaining P&C Lloyd's business or its U.K. digital platform.
