NexPoint Real Estate Finance files for IPO

NexPoint Real Estate Finance Inc. filed for an IPO of its common stock.

The company, which intends to elect to be treated as a real estate investment trust, plans to list its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol NREF. The newly formed company granted underwriters an option to purchase additional common shares within 30 days of the date of the prospectus to cover overallotments, if any.

NexPoint Real Estate Finance plans to contribute net proceeds from the offering to NexPoint Real Estate Finance Operating Partnership LP in exchange for limited partnership interests in the entity, and the entity intends to contribute net proceeds from the offering to NexPoint Real Estate Finance's subsidiary partnerships in exchange for limited partnership interests in these entities. Remaining net proceeds will be used to acquire investments.

NexPoint Real Estate Finance intends to originate, structure and invest in first mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity and alternative structured financings in commercial real estate properties, as well as multifamily commercial mortgage-backed securities.

Raymond James & Associates Inc. is the underwriter for the IPO.
