China's 21Vianet Group appoints new co-CEO, president

Chinese internet data center services provider 21Vianet Group Inc. has named Shiqi Wang co-CEO and president, effective immediately.

In his new role, Wang will manage 21Vianet's daily operations. He is also expected to strengthen ties with company shareholders such as TUS Holdings Co. Ltd., Kingsoft Corp. Ltd., Temasek and Xiaomi Inc., as well as look into strategic tie-ups with other companies.

Wang is joining 21Vianet from TUS Holdings unit TUS Digital Group where he is currently vice president. He has been involved in boosting TUS Holdings' partnership with 21Vianet since the holding company's strategic investment in the latter in May 2016.

He has also worked for almost 20 years across various companies in the telecom industry, including Ericsson AB.
