The U.S. House of Representatives voted 301-123 to approve a stopgap measure that would extend current funding levels for federal agencies until Nov. 21 and avert a partial government shutdown.
The bill now heads to the Senate, where it is also expected to be passed next week. President Donald Trump then has to sign it into law before the current government funding expires Sept. 30, when the government fiscal year ends.
The bill cleared the lower chamber following disagreements among lawmakers over payouts for farmers affected by U.S.-China tariffs.
