Verifone Systems Inc. withdrew its previous guidance for fiscal year 2018 after agreeing to be acquired by an investor group led by Francisco Partners Management LP.
The group is expected to purchase Verifone for about $3.4 billion in total, including the company's net debt.
The company reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of $17.0 million, or 15 cents per share, in its fiscal second quarter, versus a net loss of $89.3 million, or 80 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter.
Non-GAAP net income per share attributable to shareholders was 25 cents, compared to 36 cents in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017.
The S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate for the second quarter was 28 cents.
