Party City Holdco Inc. said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter came to 76 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 75 cents per share.
EPS decreased year over year from 78 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $91.8 million, an increase of 22.9% from $74.7 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 11.6% from 9.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined on an annual basis to $781.5 million from $804.0 million, and total operating expenses declined 5.1% from the prior-year period to $610.8 million from $643.4 million.
Reported net income grew 9.5% from the prior-year period to $85.7 million, or 71 cents per share, from $78.3 million, or 82 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 80 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of $1.00.
EPS rose 38.4% from 58 cents in the prior year.
Normalized net income was $90.1 million, a rise of 65.5% from $54.4 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to $2.29 billion from $2.27 billion, and total operating expenses came to $2.02 billion, compared with $2.02 billion in the prior-year period.
The company said reported net income decreased 81.8% year over year to $10.2 million, or 9 cents per share, in the full year, from $55.7 million, or 59 cents per share.
