Zumiez Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 2 came to 26 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 23 cents per share.
EPS climbed 59.4% year over year from 16 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $7.5 million, an increase of 53.2% from $4.9 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.2% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 11.9% on an annual basis to $176.7 million from $157.9 million, and total operating expenses increased 10.1% from the prior-year period to $165.1 million from $150.0 million.
Reported net income rose 56.2% on an annual basis to $7.6 million, or 26 cents per share, from $4.8 million, or 16 cents per share.
