Pentagon, Boeing sign $2.63B defense contract

The U.S. Defense Department awarded a $2.63 billion contract to local planemaker Boeing Co. for the production of KC-46 aircraft, initial spares and support equipment.

Under the terms of the contract, there is an option for an additional quantity of 15 KC-46 aircraft, data, two spare engines, five wing refueling pod kits, and other related equipment.

The work, which is expected to be completed by March 2023, will be carried out in Seattle.
