Goyo Intex fiscal Q1 loss widens YOY

Goyo Intex Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was a loss of ¥2.37 per share, compared with a loss of 74 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥30.6 million, compared with a loss of ¥8.8 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 11.3% from negative 2.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 13.9% on an annual basis to ¥272.0 million from ¥316.0 million, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to ¥313.0 million from ¥323.0 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of ¥51.0 million, or a loss of ¥3.95 per share, compared to a loss of ¥11.0 million, or a loss of 93 sen per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
