Report: Oath CEO Tim Armstrong in talks to leave

Tim Armstrong, CEO of Verizon Communications Inc. unit Oath Inc., is in talks to leave the company as soon as next month, The Wall Street Journal reported Sept. 7, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.

Armstrong joined Verizon after the U.S. carrier acquired AOL in 2015.

According to the report, Verizon has considered spinning off the Oath business, but then decided to integrate some of its operations more closely with the rest of the company.

Oath develops content for consumers and advertising service for brands and publishers across the globe.
