Infinity Lithium Corp. Ltd. said May 23 that indicated resources at the San Jose lithium-tin project in Spain increased by approximately 1.7 million tonnes from the previous estimate in December 2017.
At a 0.10% lithium cutoff, indicated resources are now at 59.0 million tonnes grading 0.63% lithium oxide, or Li2O, and 217 parts per million of tin. Inferred resource decreased to 52.2 million tonnes grading 0.59% Li2O and 193 ppm tin.
The total resource at San Jose now stands at 111.3 million tonnes grading 0.61% Li2O and 206 ppm tin.
The increase follows a small-scale diamond drilling program as part of a feasibility study for San Jose, which is scheduled to be complete later this year.
In addition, the geotechnical data gathered from drilling allowed for improved pit wall angles to be used in optimizations. The revised pit design is expected to reduce the strip ratio, leading to an improved outcome compared to the scoping study and improved project economics.
An update to the October 2017 scoping study will be released prior to the completion of the feasibility study.
