Westcot Ventures Corp. changed its name to WPD Pharmaceuticals Inc.

The Canadian biotechnology company is renaming itself after Waldemar Priebe and Waldemar Debinski, the scientists who developed three of the company's cancer treatment products.

The company resumed trading under its new name as of market open Jan. 14. WPD will continue to use its existing ticker symbol of WBIO following the name change.
