SaskPower has completed the 353-MW Chinook combined-cycle power project in southwestern Saskatchewan on time and under budget.
With an estimated final cost of C$605 million, the facility was completed C$75 million under budget.
The project has been generating power for customers since mid-November, provincial goverment-owned SaskPower said in a Dec. 6 news release. It is capable of producing enough electricity for 350,000 residential homes.
Construction of the facility started in January 2017.
