Hikari Furniture Co., Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥107.90 per share, a gain of 8.9% from ¥99.06 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥381.9 million, a gain of 8.9% from ¥350.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 17.2% from 16.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥2.23 billion from ¥2.18 billion, and total operating expenses came to ¥1.62 billion, compared with ¥1.62 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income increased 52.9% year over year to ¥529.0 million, or ¥149.48 per share, from ¥346.0 million, or ¥97.76 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
