Lux Island Resorts Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 came to 1.21 Mauritian rupees per share, an increase of 8.9% from 1.11 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 164.5 million rupees, a gain of 30.5% from 126.0 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 11.3% from 10.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 16.4% on an annual basis to 1.45 billion rupees from 1.25 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 16.4% on an annual basis to 1.12 billion rupees from 962.3 million rupees.
Reported net income rose 30.3% from the prior-year period to 238.0 million rupees, or 1.74 rupees per share, from 182.6 million rupees, or 1.60 rupees per share.
As of May 13, US$1 was equivalent to 35.02 Mauritian rupees.
