EQT's chief commercial officer extends noncompete agreement

Appalachian shale gas driller EQT Corp.'s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Donald Jenkins extended his noncompete agreement with the company through the end of April, according to an Oct. 7 SEC filing.

Jenkins is one of the last C-level executives remaining at EQT after shareholders voted out the previous management team and appointed Toby Rice as CEO of what Rice promised will be a revamped company by the end of this year.

Before the reorganization, Jenkins' responsibilities included safety and information technology. New leaders for those areas have been appointed and those duties have been removed from Jenkins' portfolio.

Jenkins' noncompete agreement would have expired 90 days after the Rice team took over July 10, and both he and the company wanted more time to consider Jenkins' future, EQT spokesman Michael Laffin said Oct. 8.
