Amazon.com Inc. greenlighted two seasons of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" from "Gilmore Girls"-creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
The series' pilot debuted on Amazon Video March 17. It is written and directed by Sherman-Palladino and is about a 1958 New York City woman, Miriam "Midge" Maisel, who lives a perfect life with her kids and husband and who starts a career in stand-up comedy through the nightclubs and basket houses of Greenwich Village.
The series will be released worldwide on Amazon Prime Video and will also be able to download for offline viewing.
The series is executive produced by Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, and stars Rachel Brosnahan in the title role, with Michael Zegen, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle and Tony Shalhoub also among the cast.
