Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory fiscal Q3 profit climbs 31.5% YOY

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to 15 cents per share, a gain of 33.6% from 11 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $950,940, an increase of 31.5% from $723,150 in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 9.0% from 7.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 13.8% on an annual basis to $10.6 million from $9.3 million, and total operating expenses increased 8.8% on an annual basis to $9.0 million from $8.3 million.

Reported net income rose 34.3% on an annual basis to $957,130, or 15 cents per share, from $712,860, or 11 cents per share.
