Woolworths Group Ltd. said March 8 that it will start selling gift cards without expiration dates beginning March 31.
The move comes about four months after the Australian supermarket chain operator said that it is extending its gift cards' expiration to three years in Australia to comply with the New South Wales government's mandatory requirement.
In its latest announcement, Woolworths said it is also extending the flexibility for gift cards purchased on or after March 31, 2017.
The changes apply to all Woolworths stores, including Woolworths Supermarkets, Big W, Dan Murphy's and Caltex Woolworths petrol stations. Caltex Woolworths is jointly operated by Caltex Australia Ltd. and Woolworths.
