FERC clears Engie Resources' acquisition of Plymouth Rock Energy

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorized Engie Resources Inc. to acquire gas and electricity retail company Plymouth Rock Energy LLC for undisclosed terms.

Plymouth serves approximately 465,000 residential customer equivalents and operates in 39 utility markets in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Illinois and Massachusetts.

Plymouth Rock Energy is a subsidiary of Plymouth Rock Energy Parent Holding LLC, which is majority owned by MVC Private Equity Fund LP and with minority interests held by three individuals. MVC Private Equity Fund is backed by asset manager MVC Capital Inc.

Engie Resources is a subsidiary of ENGIE North America Inc., which in turn is owned by French energy company Engie SA. (FERC docket EC19-19)
