Wakou Shokuhin fiscal Q3 profit climbs 84.6% YOY

Wakou Shokuhin Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥201.50 per share, an increase of 84.6% from ¥109.15 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥165.0 million, a gain of 84.6% from ¥89.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 9.4% from 5.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 16.6% year over year to ¥1.75 billion from ¥1.50 billion, and total operating expenses rose 12.5% year over year to ¥1.60 billion from ¥1.43 billion.

Reported net income increased 92.4% year over year to ¥152.0 million, or ¥185.63 per share, from ¥79.0 million, or ¥96.48 per share.

As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.28.
