Blue Capital expects $10M in Q3 catastrophe losses

Blue Capital Reinsurance Holdings Ltd. has announced a third-quarter estimate of about $10.2 million in catastrophe losses, net of reinsurance and reinstatement premiums.

Blue Capital's estimate includes a $6.1 million increase in estimated losses related to Hurricane Irma, which swept through Florida in 2017. Approximately $4.1 million of estimated losses are due to the impact of Hurricane Florence and Japan's Typhoon Jebi.
