AT&T, CWA reach tentative labor deals for 20,000 employees

AT&T Inc. has reached tentative agreements with the Communications Workers of America labor union for contracts covering about 20,000 employees, the company said Aug. 29.

The three agreements with CWA District 3 cover Southeast wireline, BellSouth Telecommunications – Utility Operations and AT&T Billing Southeast employees in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The five-year agreements will be submitted to the union's members for ratification in the coming days.

In July, AT&T Mobility and the CWA also reached a tentative deal for a new contract involving about 900 AT&T Mobility employees in Puerto Rico.
