U.K.-based insurer Saga PLC appointed Gareth Hoskin as a nonexecutive director, effective March 11.

Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc. named Tara Houvenagle as wholesale distribution executive for the West, while Jessica Ferguson was named wholesale distribution executive for the East. Both of them will join a team headed by Ben Johnson, wholesale distribution executive for North America.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Co. appointed Pedro Mairos as head of marine and Sean Mannion as head of property, for the U.K. and Ireland. Mairos most recently served as U.K. deputy chief underwriting officer and head of U.K. marine cargo underwriting at AXA Corporate Solutions. Mannion most recently was head of property and energy lines within commercial insurance U.K. at Zurich Insurance.

Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia tapped Donald Bragg as director of membership and marketing, Insurance Journal reported. Previously, he worked at Hanover Insurance Co. and was an associate member of Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia.
