Enel Green Power commissions 238-MW solar project in Mexico

Enel Green Power announced the commissioning May 24 of the 238-MW Don José photovoltaic solar project in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.

Enel Green Power subsidiary Enel Green Power Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. invested $220 million to construct the facility, which achieved full production over five months ahead of schedule.

Don José is the fifth renewable plant commissioned worldwide by Enel Green Power in 2018, bringing its total commissioned capacity to approximately 1,000 MW for the year, according to a news release.

The company recently agreed to invest about $21 million to expand Don José's capacity by 10%, or 22 MW.

Enel Green Power is a subsidiary of Italian utility giant Enel SpA.
