Beach Hatchery Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 15 poisha per share, compared with 31 poisha per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 6.1 million taka, compared with income of 13.0 million taka in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 281.2% from 18.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 97.0% on an annual basis to 2.2 million taka from 71.6 million taka, and total operating expenses decreased 78.2% on an annual basis to 10.8 million taka from 49.8 million taka.
Reported net income came to a loss of 9.8 million taka, or a loss of 24 poisha per share, compared to income of 20.1 million taka, or 49 poisha per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of April 15, US$1 was equivalent to 77.75 taka.
