Sugi Holdings fiscal Q3 profit climbs 6.5% YOY

Sugi Holdings Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, was ¥44.89 per share, an increase of 6.5% from ¥42.16 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.84 billion, a gain of 6.5% from ¥2.67 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.1% from 3.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased on an annual basis to ¥93.06 billion from ¥89.01 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to ¥88.80 billion from ¥84.95 billion.

Reported net income fell 16.6% from the prior-year period to ¥2.56 billion, or ¥40.42 per share, from ¥3.07 billion, or ¥48.44 per share.
