Metinvest to invest US$318M in plant upgrades in Ukraine

Metinvest BV is set to allocate about US$318 million to environmental upgrade projects in Mariupol, Ukraine, within the next five years, it said June 2.

Azovstal Iron and Steel Works CEO Enver Tskitishvili and Illich Iron and Steel Works CEO Yuri Zinchenko presented an environmental upgrade program to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman for sintering and steelmaking facilities.

The investment program will focus on the sinter plant at Illich Iron and Steel Works and gas purification facilities in blast-furnace and converter shops at both steelworks.
